Recent additions to our links

There are a couple recent additions to our local links you may have overlooked.

Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall is now in our Local Area Sites list.

We also included a link to the Charleston Times Courier newspaper.  OK, technically it is the Journal Gazette - Times Courier, which includes the Mattoon Journal Gazette.  But you only have so much space to write everything!

We also removed a couple which have quit working.

Oh, and keep your eyes on the Bumpus Farms web site. It is in the process of being upgraded and improved. Currently it's a blog with a few photos thrown in.  Lance Otto from  Minnesota is helping Mike develop the new one. As both get into the farming season it may be put on hold until a rainy day or such.  The new site is temporarily at www.BumpusFarms.info for now, if you want to watch as it is being developed.

Mmmmmm Mildred Morris cookies

If you grew up in the Brick Church community or attended VBS there you recognize these. The connoisseurs of fine home made cookies will tell you NOTHING matches Mildred Morris chocolate cookies.  An expert tells us they taste every bit as good as the real thing.

Another new web site

The new preacher at the Baptist church has created a web site for the church.  Pretty good looking site.  Give it a look at http://www.fbcwestunion.com/

We're going to claim Hip-n-Humble as being local ...

Hip-n-Humble Studios may say they have a Robinson address (8372 N 950th, Robinson, Illinois), but we know better.  Ryan and Kim are West Union folks regardless of where the studio is located.  Visit their web site http://hip-n-humble.com and near the bottom click on the Flash Player link to view some of their work (http://hip-n-humble.com/?load=flash)

I don't think I should post any of the photographs of people without permission.  I really enjoy photos that show a different perspective, an awareness of what is happening around us and attention to detail.  This one that was posted on Facebook shows that awareness:

Another new web site

Actually it may not be new, but I just found it.
